Allergic reaction during BLW — sharing our scary experience

Wanted to share this so other BLW parents can be prepared. At 7 months we gave our son scrambled egg for the first time. Within 15 minutes he had hives around his mouth, red swollen eyes, and started scratching his neck. We gave piriton and rushed to KKH A&E. He was treated and is completely fine now. The key lesson: introduce allergenic foods one at a time, in the morning, and have piriton at home. KKH said this was a moderate reaction and gave us a referral to their allergy clinic. Our PD now wants a formal allergy test before we try egg again.
