After a meal (when baby is most active) or at a consistent daily time. Evening is often best.
Sit or lie on your left side in a quiet place. This maximises blood flow to the uterus.
Kicks, rolls, jabs, flutters, and hiccups all count. Aim for 10 movements in 2 hours.
Note the time to reach 10. Over time, you'll learn your baby's normal pattern.
Kick counting is recommended from week 28 of pregnancy. For your full pregnancy timeline, visit the Week-by-Week Guide →
