Using Medisave for Delivery

Singapore Citizens and PRs can use Medisave to pay for their delivery bills. For a normal delivery at a restructured hospital, you can claim up to SGD 900 from your Medisave account. For C-sections, the claim limit is SGD 2,150. If your baby requires NICU care, additional Medisave can be used. Always verify current withdrawal limits at the CPF Board website as these are updated periodically.

What to Consider When Choosing a Hospital

Questions to ask yourself:
  • Do I have a high-risk pregnancy that needs specialist NICU access?
  • How important is it to have my own OB deliver my baby?
  • What does my Integrated Shield Plan cover?
  • How close is the hospital to my home?
  • Do I want a private room for my postnatal stay?
  • Is my partner allowed to stay overnight?

Plan Your Delivery Early

Most hospitals recommend booking your delivery suite by the second trimester. Private hospital delivery suites can fill up quickly. Public hospitals generally do not require advance booking for delivery itself, but register early for antenatal care. Use the Due Date Calculator to confirm your EDD and plan your booking timeline.
