Family meals with minor modifications. Avoid: honey, whole nuts, added salt and sugar. Baby can drink from an open cup with help. Aim for iron-rich foods at least twice daily.

Play & Activity Ideas

  • Push-along cart / toy walker (stable furniture is better)
  • Simple puzzles and shape sorters
  • Bath crayons and cups for water play
  • Play in the park - Climbing, grass textures, outdoor sounds

When to Consult Your Paediatrician

If your baby is NOT doing any of the following, speak to your doctor - Early intervention is key:

  • Not standing when supported
  • Not using any gestures (point, wave, clap)
  • Not imitating sounds or actions
  • No babbling strings

Singapore-Specific Advice

Thinking about childcare? MOH-licensed infant care centres in Singapore take babies from 2 months. The government subsidy (for Singaporean children) reduces fees significantly. Apply for KidSTART if eligible (household income ≤ SGD 3,500/month) for enhanced early childhood support.

Remember: Every baby develops at their own pace. These milestones are general guides based on WHO standards. Always consult your paediatrician, polyclinic, or family doctor if you have any concerns about your baby's development.
