Singapore New Parent Essentials Checklist
Before baby arrives
- Register birth plan with hospital
- Pre-register at KKH/NUH if using public ward
- Join infant care / childcare waitlist (18+ month wait is common!)
- Pack hospital bag by week 36
- Install car seat before due date
- Set up baby sleeping area (cot, firm mattress)
First week home
- Register baby's birth within 14 days (ICA ServiceSG)
- Apply for Baby Bonus at MSF within 12 months
- Activate baby's MediShield Life
- Enrol baby in Integrated Shield Plan (if desired)
- Apply for MediSave Grant for Newborns (SGD 4,000)
- Start Medisave-funded vaccinations (BCG, Hep B at birth)
