PCOs diagnosis — what did your TTC journey look like?

Just diagnosed with PCOS at 29. My cycle is all over the place (anywhere from 35 to 60+ days) and I'm not sure I'm ovulating regularly. The gynae has started me on metformin and suggested we try for 6 months naturally before considering Clomid. Anyone with PCOS who successfully conceived? Did you find the metformin helped with cycles? How long did your TTC journey take? Looking for hope more than anything.
