Baby won't latch — feeling like such a failure

My baby is 4 days old and despite two lactation consultant sessions I still can't get her to latch properly. She's screaming and I'm crying. The hospital said top-up with formula if needed but I feel so guilty doing it. Is anyone else been through this? Does it get easier?

This was exactly me at day 4. It took 3 weeks before it clicked. Please don't call yourself a failure — you're doing something incredibly hard while running on no sleep.

Top up with formula if needed! A fed baby is the priority. You can always keep trying to latch alongside. A lactation consultant at Thomson Medical helped me turn it around at week 3.
